The residents of Cathedral Walk were among many Wells residents treated yesterday afternoon with a visit by Ruby from Charlie Bigham’s, delivering lasagne ready meals as a “neighbourly” gift in these troubled times.
Charlie Bigham, who creates his range of ready meals from his new kitchens in Dulcote Quarry, has been very generous in supporting the local community. Shortly after he opened his new site he match-funded Wells SOUP to the tune of £350 which helped four local charities to raise much needed funds.
“So huge thanks to Charlie Bigham’s for this gesture which brought a huge smile to Karen Young’s face,” said her husband Ross who is the main organiser of SOUP.
“April’s SOUP was postponed with the hope of it coming back on July 11 which remains to be seen. Should it not go ahead then it will be back on October 3.”
SOUP is a grant-giving lunch which has helped 63 charities and projects so far to spread their word and raise funds.
